Lenovo has never really been successful in the U.S. smartphone market, but in China they have seen an exponential growth and can compete with the big players like Sony and HTC. While I'm sure Lenovo pleased with their market share in the Asian market, the next step is to try to make a dent in the international market. 
Lenovo has announced two new smartphones, which will be focused on the international market. Lenovo name is mostly associated with the PC in the United States, but is famous for mobile devices in Asia. Both new devices, Vibe X will be released in China on October 20, and Vibe Z will be released in the near future. 
The Vibe X, which was announced in early September came at 6.9 inches thick, is one of the thinnest around 5-inch screen will shake. The Vibe X come true with a 5-inch screen with Gorilla Glass compete 1080p 3. The Vibe X rocks a quad-core 1.5GHz CPU MediaTek and 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. As far as cameras go, Vibe X has a front-facing camera and a 5MP rear facing 13MP snapper. 
The Vibe Z packs full HD 5.5 inch screen and 2GB of RAM, and a fast Snapdragon Super 800. Although no release date or price has been detailed, Vibe Z should come with a similar price point to that of the Vibe X.

Believe it or not, the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade for Acer Iconia Tab 500/501 was hinted in November of last year, with January set as the possible date. It was not until May that a variant of the tab the scoop of ice cream was promised, but ICS on the A501 was still nowhere to be found. Fast forward to today, it seems the Android 4.0.3 OTA update is finally being rolled out by Acer. The Ice Cream Sandwich update is received by the owners of the Acer Iconia Tab A501 in Australia, as in Canada. So if you're on Rogers, you can now check whether the update on your tab to see if there is a surprise. We are not sure if other regions will get the update today. Together with the OTA update, Acer has also reportedly released the kernel source code for both Iconia Tab A500 and A510 on its website. Devs will be delighted to get something to play this weekend. What's that you say, Jellybean? From what Acer has revealed, that may just happen. But just do not get your hopes too high.
